Parks Board
PUBLIC NOTICE: The Parks Board is currently in the process of completing a 5-year Update to the Town's Parks and Recreation Master Plan. A draft of that plan is below. The Town is accepting public comments through February 11th. Public comments can be submitted via email to building@mccordsville.org or sending a letter to the Town C/O Parks Plan Update.
The five member Parks Board looks at the feasibility of acquiring, preserving and managing park land within the Town. The board will work to establish a network of greenway corridors that interconnect the community and link the multi-use path systems within the Town, as well as to work with neighboring municipalities to encourage their linking to the McCordsville multi-use trail system. The Board recently approved a Bike/Ped Plan to ensure connectivity throughout the Town and established a Park Impact Fee to help pay for land acquisition and trail connections in the future. There are two parks located in McCordsville -- the Town Hall Park located within the Town Hall property and the Old School Park, located off of CR 600W (Mt. Comfort Road) in Old Town.
